When AI Can Become You: What Sexperts Need to Understand About the Future of Expertise

I recently received an invitation to join Delphi.ai, a platform that can gather an expert’s existing body of work — including writing, podcasts, interviews and other material — and turn it into what the company calls a Digital Mind: an interactive version of that expert’s accumulated knowledge that other people can question directly.
At first glance, the idea is impressive. Most professionals spend years creating articles, recording interviews, teaching workshops, answering the same kinds of questions in different ways and slowly building a body of expertise that is scattered across the internet, private documents and countless pieces of content. A system that can organise all of that material and make it immediately useful sounds incredibly practical.
Then I looked at the Digital Mind of an expert I recognised, and the feeling shifted. Instead of searching for a particular article she had written, buying a book, listening through hours of podcast appearances or even contacting her, I could simply ask the system what she thought. Her accumulated public thinking had become conversational; I did not need to know where the information lived, when she had said it or how to assemble it myself, because I only needed a question.
That experience raises a much larger question for anyone whose career depends on expertise, and particularly for sex and relationship professionals: what happens when AI stops merely helping people find our knowledge and starts becoming a way for them to interact with an organised, personalised version of it?
